Prof. Vijaya
Khader, former Dean Faculty of Home Science, Acharya N.G.Ranga Agricultural University, Hyderabad, has been actively engaged in nutrition research and teaching for over thirty three years. She worked as Associate Dean at College of Home Science, Bapatla from 1983 to 1994 as a First Principal and also at college of Home Science, Hyderabad from 2001 to 2002.Dr.Vijaya Khader headed the Department of Foods &n Nutrition, PGRC located at Rajendranagar campus as the Director, centre of Advanced studies (1995-2002) in the field of Foods & Nutrition, which is the only one in the country. She is instrumental in starting Inter-faculty P.G.Programme in Food Science & Technology and worked as a Programme Director for a period of one year (2001-2002).She has completed 22 independent adhoc projects to date. She has fabricated two equipments namely Low cost ice-cream freezer and Multi-Purpose fresh fish vending & display table, received patents and licensed the same to a women entrepreneur for a period of two years which is a very significant contribution.Again the technology was licenced for another women Enterpreneur for a period of 6 years(from September-2006).Visited U.S.A.(Michigan State University, Maryland University,lowa state University Texas University, College Station and Washington D.C)., U.K(University of Wales,Banger,University of Nottingham and University of London, Wales College).Attended
8th Asian Congress of Nutrition at Seoul, South Korea and presented
two papers. Presented a paper on "Nutritional Status and Socio Economic
Empowerment of Fisher Women in Coastal Eco-system of Andhrapradesh,Karnataka,Kerela
and Tamilnadu" in the 7th Asian Fisheries Forum 2004 held 30th November
to 4th December,2004 at Penang,Malaysia. She has also visited Egypt,
Netherlands & Italy along with Honourable Minister of Agricultural,
Principal Secretary of Government of Andhrapradesh and Vice-Chancellor
of Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University in the month of May
2006.Visited Biejing Aust 2007 as a TWOWS member, presented activities of National Chapter.Presented a paper entitled Participation of Fisher Women in Costal Eco system of Andhra Pradesh,Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil nadu for socio Economic Development 16 th World congress of IUAES at Kuniming, the capital of Union Province west China during 27 -31 July 2009. Presented a paper in International conference on Women Scientists in a Changing World during 27th - 30th June 2010 at Beijing (China). Attended EXPO ,2010 at Shanghai during 26th & 27th June
2010.
